L.U.C.Y. (Let Us Cover You) was created in response to a critical moment many foster youth face—when the system ends, but real life is just beginning. Too often, young people transition out of foster care without the support, guidance, or resources needed to navigate adulthood successfully. L.U.C.Y. was founded to change that reality.
Why L.U.C.Y. Was Created
The inspiration behind L.U.C.Y. comes from witnessing the challenges faced by youth aging out of foster care—young people who are expected to become independent overnight, often without a safety net. L.U.C.Y. was created to stand in that gap, offering consistency, care, and community during one of the most vulnerable seasons of life.
The Gap in Foster Care Transitions
When foster care ends, support frequently disappears. Many young adults are left to manage housing, education, employment, and emotional well-being on their own. This transition period is where many fall through the cracks—not because of lack of potential, but because of lack of support. L.U.C.Y. exists to ensure that no young person is left to navigate this transition alone.

It means providing guidance, protection, encouragement, and resources when they are needed most.
